What you will learn
After completing of this course, students will have an appropriate knowledge on the following issues related to the world politics as: The history and theory of the world politics, which from itself includes such topics as world political system, theoretical schools in the framework of the international researches, main transnational actors of the modern world, transformation of the international relations system, changes on the world political map and grouping of the states according to the different parameters, role and place of the world politics as an academic discipline etc. Furthermore, students will be able to analyze such important processes within world politics, as globalization, integration and democratization etc. also, basic challenges before the international community, which are interrelated with the problems of arms control and security, conflicts, organized crime, terrorism, demography, environment, relations between “Global North” and “Global South”, corruption, money laundering, gender balance. At the same time, students will increase their qualification on the new dimensions of the contemporary international relations and world politics, which are connected with economic, legal, moral and educational aspects, also regulation of such political processes as foreign policy and diplomacy, main aspects of the global governance.
Knowledge and understanding • Describes the subject and the object of research of World Politics and International Relations, defines the main theories and concepts within the framework of world politics and international relations, classifies the main components of the world policy system and defines the relations between states in various fields. • Distinguishes between different approaches - basic theories and concepts within world politics and international relations. • Explains the different challenges in the field of world politics. Classifies these challenges. • Using a theoretical framework, discusses the core priorities of national security and foreign policy priorities of the states.
Each student will feel himself/herself as a plenipotentiary part of the Globalized World
Glossary - Main terminologies related to the World Politics (For example meaning of alliances and coalitions, International convention etc.) will be deeply analyzed
